About the role

The Lived Experience organisational function works within Mind’s support hub and drives the implementation of mental health system reforms and service innovations informed by lived expertise, intersectionality, human rights and social justice.

 

We are seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate Manager, Family and Carer Strategy and Program Development for a permanent, fulltime in the Burnley area. You will provide high level lived expertise and project management to lead strategy and program development across family and carer-centred programs.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Draw from lived expertise approaches to inform and drive the delivery of lived experience led innovation projects.
  • Review family and carer programs and alignment with evidence and best practice approaches to identify areas for strategic development.
  • Ensure the development of conditions that support families, carers and supporters across diverse communities to have a voice and influence in decision making.
  • Oversee and ensure strong systems of reporting and accountability are in place throughout strategic projects to keep project partners, contractors, and other stakeholders informed and connected.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/ or Advanced Training.
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Community Engagement, Mental Health, Peer Work, Health Policy, Project Management, or health related field as designated by Mind. Or, demonstrated ability to apply lived expertise in leadership.
  • Has a Lived experience as a family, carer or supporter of someone experiencing mental illness and/or distressand understanding of, and ability and willingness to, contribute this Lived Expertise in working towards greater organisational impact.
