About the role

The Quality and Practice Teams  aim to understand the impact of mental health challenges on people’s lives and will work to ensure that organisational systems, processes, policies, practice and service design embed approaches and attitudes that support the cultural safety, access and engagement of the people who are employed, use or benefit from services. The Teams will develop systemic and person-centred approaches to embed a culture of inclusion and participation into services, practice and operations.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate Practice Development Advisor – AOD Lead for a 4 month fixed term, full time opportunity to work in the Burnley area. You will lead and provide expert guidance to implement and maintain consistent practice standards, meet policy and procedure, compliance requirements, support workforce skills development and ensure knowledge transfer methods and models are align to and support Mind’s AOD strategy.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop skills and knowledge in the service streams to provide specialist practice and quality support to staff and services within the stream regarding AOD.
  • Build robust working relationships with all levels of staff across Mind to convey and implement quality improvement activities and to develop, change and improve practice.
  • Work closely with Research, Advocacy and Policy Development Division to support the development and implementation of outcome measures and service evaluation within the specialist area of AOD.
  • Consult and work collaboratively with the Lived Experience Division to ensure lived experience is incorporated into practice development and quality improvement.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, AOD, Health, Social Policy, Social Science or other related field as designated by Mind.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting the design, management, implementation and evaluation of practice improvement projects or change management programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety and quality principles and systems in a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement problem solving and project management skills and competencies.
