About the role

The IS vision is to provide reliable, cost-effective and secure technologies and support services that enable Mind’s staff to professionally engage with, and support, our client base. The goals of the IS function are to engage with all stakeholders, deliver and maintain technology platforms and services that are fit for purpose, cost effective and secure, and be committed to achieving agreed service levels. The IS staff will always place a priority on teamwork when pursuing these objectives.

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly skilled Applications Analyst for a permanent, fulltime opportunity in the Burnley area. You will be involved in all aspects of the application lifecycle, using your analytical and technical skills to bring solutions to the organisation and enhance the operations of existing Systems.

You will be able to take on a diverse spectrum of IS work. On this occasion the successful candidate will bring strength to the team’s SQL Server and data/integration capabilities.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Operate under limited direction to provide specialist input into application support and service delivery, working as a member of the team, and independently.
  • Participate in establishing and continuously improving the operational procedures around applications to support and achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Control and co-ordinate small-to-medium projects within the organisation in accordance with IS and organisational goals.  As a member of the applications team, provide a consultancy/partnership service to a wide range of IS internal clients.
  • Undertake activities across the application lifecycle, under a wide range of conditions to achieve results in line with IS and organisational goals.
  • Apply proven techniques and develop appropriate methodologies throughout the Application lifecycle.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Highly Desirable - ITIL Foundation certification
  • Demonstrated experience in providing application support in a Microsoft environment with a high level of knowledge in IS technical operations and best practice.
  • Experience working with a variety of applications and hosting methods (on premise, Azure, hybrid, and SaaS).
  • Strong generalist use of SQL Server (such as server administration, security, and SQL scripting).
  • Skills to implement and support the movement and integration of data using the right Microsoft toolset for the task at hand (for example SSIS; Azure Data Factory pipelines; other Azure services; Power Platform).
