With over 30 years of experience, our innovative services and community-driven approach create a safe and supportive environment.
About the Service
The Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) Program, Connector Hub, provides time-limited person led support to individuals living with severe and persistent mental health challenges to:
- connect with services
- receive 1:1 recovery support
- access to build capacity and develop skills within recovery-based group support, and
- receive support to test their eligibility for NDIS
CPS Connector Hub aims to improve access to mental health support for the community by delivering services that address people’s social, physical and emotional needs; and supports those with co-occurring conditions or complex psychosocial barriers.
About the role
We are seeking a community connected and trauma informed Aboriginal CPS Access Worker for a fixed term, fulltime or part time (up to 38 hours per week) opportunity in the Campbelltown area. ODMH operates locally as self-organised teams – called Recovery 2gether teams. Team members are collectively responsible and accountable for supporting the people who access our services (e.g. clients, consumers, family and carers), and team tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed support tailored to the individual’s beliefs, values, and practices.
- Connect individuals to services in the community including GPs, mental health clinicians, community, welfare, education and employment services to help them achieve their goals.
- Facilitate small group activities including living skills, social, physical health and recovery focussed activities.
- Assist consumers to test their eligibility to access the NDIS.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to facilitate the effective operation of the team.
Your Benefits
- Transform Lives: Play a vital role in empowering individuals, helping them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
- Competitive Salary Packaging: Maximize your take-home pay by salary packaging up to $15,900.
- Fitness Passport: Take advantage of our discounted workplace health and fitness program, offering you and your family access to a wide range of gyms, pools, and fitness centers at a fraction of the regular cost. - Leave Perks: Enjoy leave perks including birthday leave, study leave, and an extra annual picnic day leave!
What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in mental health, health or welfare degree, or Cert IV in mental health and substantial years of relevant experience or equivalent level of expertise attained through previous appointments, service and study.
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and ideally, have active involvement in Aboriginal communities across the South-Western Sydney region and surrounding communities.
