About the service
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services are a key recommendation from Victoria’s Royal Commission into the mental health service system’s transformation. These services will act as the front door service to the mental health system and will provide a continuum of care and support, including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug framework approach. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services will have a ‘no wrong door’ policy, ensuring accessibility to all individuals seeking support.
About the role
We are seeking a professional, self-motivated Administration Support Officer for a Permanent, Part-Time (18.75 hours per week) opportunity to provide high level reception and administration support in the Pakenham area. You will ensure that Locals is perceived as friendly and welcoming in a role that is generally about supporting the team with all administrative tasks. This role is essential to support the delivery of front-line care provided by a multi-disciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact and provide exceptional customer service for clients, families and visitors.
- Provide high-level reception and administrative support to a multidisciplinary team.
- Manage appointments, client files, Medicare billing, and office systems.
- Support service operations administrative functions including IT, facilities, finance, and data entry.
- Assist the Service Manager and provide administrative assistance including managing office systems, correspondence, accounts and billing, and database maintenance.
- Help create a culturally safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all working staff and service users of the Cardinia Mental Health and Wellbeing Local.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Business Administration and/or other related field and/or equivalent administration experience in a related industry.
- Broad experience in administrative support, data entry and customer service in Not For Profit, Social Services, Community Services, Healthcare or Disability services settings.
- Strong organisational and customer service skills.
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to positively contribute to the team and organisation culture.
- Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with data handling is a plus.
- Lived experience of mental health or caring for someone with mental health challenges is highly valued.
