About the role

We are seeking an experienced and high-performing Area Manager to champion operational excellence, foster collaborative partnerships, guide evidence-based practices and deliver high-quality services for people accessing Mind, their families and carers.   In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the General Manager Housing Services and the broader leadership team to drive continuous improvement and foster strong partnerships with stakeholders to enhance housing support for people with psychosocial disabilities.

You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across multiple residential services, ensuring delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented and person-centred support consistent with Mind’s service models.  You will also be responsible to meeting service, occupancy and financial targets, managing budgets and workforce, and ensuring compliance with NDIS quality standards.

The Housing services stream is crucial in driving growth and sustainable outcomes across the business.  Housing Services are also responsible for ensuring new services are established and occupancy levels of current residential services are maintained.

Key responsibilities

• With direction from the General Manager Housing Services, support and implement the redesign of housing services in Mind to bring alignment, integration and flexibility to the housing with supports model.
• Translate Mind’s strategic and business plans into local operational plan and service delivery, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
• Oversee the delivery of evidence-informed, NDIS-aligned, and person-centred services across multiple residential programs.
• Champion a purpose-led, values-driven culture by modelling positive leadership behaviours and fostering a ‘can do’ attitude within teams.
• Empower and coach leaders and staff to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented, person-centred services in line with Mind’s Service Models and policies.
• Foster collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery and community engagement.
• Contribute to a workplace that values lived experience and the inclusion of consumers, carers and families in the work that we do and contribute to a culturally safe workforce.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Health, Management or a related field to Diploma level or higher and/or significant, relevant work experience as designated by Mind.
• Extensive experience in leading operations of new or transforming business in a mental health, community or disability service setting.
• Extensive experience and understanding in fee for service models such as NDIS.
