About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager for a fixed-term, part-time (22.8 hours/week) at our Youth Step-Up Step-Down (YSUSD) short-term residential service in Caboolture.

As Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the recovery journey of young people living with psychosocial disability, empowering them to transition safely from hospital to community life. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health services to young people with psychosocial disabilities and provide support to their families and carers.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Lead and manage high-quality, individualised services for clients, families, and carers in accordance with the Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice.
  • Coach, develop and supervise a high-performing team, to deliver client-centred outcomes and meet performance targets.
  • Oversee individual client recovery plans, provide leadership in clinical care review meetings, and model best practice in youth mental health interventions.
  • Oversee budget management, reporting, and service compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local services, clinical partners, community groups, and other stakeholders.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in youth mental health or community services.
  • Expertise in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice and evidence-based interventions.
  • Experience in managing teams, financial oversight, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Ability to provide proof of vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases or willingness to obtain required vaccinations per Queensland Health partnership.
