Service Manager

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Service Manager for a permanent, part time opportunity (30.4 hours/week) to lead our new service in the Caboolture area. In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of program operations, ensuring a high standard of service delivery aligned with Mind’s Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice, My Better Life model and organisational values, supporting young people experiencing psychosocial disability. The Service Manager will also be responsible for staff management and achievement of service performance and budget targets.
About the service
This new service is designed to support young people aged 16 to 21 as they transition from an acute mental health setting to community living or to prevent further hospital admissions. In a homelike environment with 24-hour access to staff, young people are supported to achieve their recovery goals, strengthen relationships with families and carers, develop social connections, and build confidence to live independently and safely in the community. The service provides personalised one-to-one support, shared supports, workshops, and group activities based on the client’s strengths and goals as outlined in their individual recovery plan.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the program to ensure the service is operating efficiently and effectively.
- Lead and manage services to clients, carers and families as defined in the Model of Recovery Oriented Practice and related guidelines to ensure that individually tailored services for clients and their family and carers are provided to the highest standard.
- Oversee, coach and model a targeted, integrated and individualised responses to clients through flexible, person-centred active supports.
- Build and lead a high-performance team through engaging the team, setting clear direction and fostering team engagement.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including communities, service providers, partners, government agencies, and others.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and their families and carers, alongside strong knowledge of mental health service delivery, service development, financial management, budget control, and reporting.
- Proven leadership skills with the capability to coach, mentor, and develop a team to achieve high-quality service outcomes.
