About the Service
The new Commonwealth Psychosocial program (CPS) provides time-limited support to individuals living with severe and persistent mental health challenges to:
- connect with services
- receive 1:1 recovery support
- have access to skill building and recovery focused group support, and
- receive support to test their eligibility for NDIS.
About the role
We are seeking an organised and collaborative CPS Access Worker for a 12 month fixed term, fulltime (38 hours per week) providing support to Wingecarribee, Wollondilly and Campbelltown areas. You will provide short‑term, recovery‑focused support for people with psychosocial disability helping them access NDIS, connect to services and collaborate within Recovery 2gether teams.
Applicants who speak community languages such as Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese and Assyrian are highly encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities
- Work with individuals accessing the program within recovery and trauma informed frameworks to identify their strengths and goals.
- Connect individuals to services in the community including GPs, mental health clinicians, community, welfare, education and employment services to help them achieve their goals.
- Facilitate small group activities including living skills, social activities and physical health and recovery focused activities.
- Assist consumers to test eligibility for access to NDIS.

What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in mental health, health or welfare degree, or Cert IV in mental health and substantial years of relevant experience or equivalent level of expertise attained through previous appointments, service and study.
- An understanding of the recovery- based approach to assisting people with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Ability to communicate and explain information in a clear, concise way to the people we support, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Ability to exercise personal responsibility and work as part of a self-organising team, with the support and guidance of the Coach.
- Ability to travel within South Western Sydney to deliver support to service users.
- Sound knowledge of NDIS access requirements.
