About the role

We are seeking a self-motivated, compassionate Provisional Psychologist for a fixed-term, part-time opportunity (30.4 hours per week) to join our Allied Health team, working across the Melbourne metropolitan area.

In this role you deliver evidence based, time limited psychological therapies under supervision, contribute to case consultation, and support the delivery of services including positive behaviour support and capacity building to people experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges and dual disabilities. You will provide interventions in person, outreach or through telehealth, using strengths-based approaches to support clients to achieve recovery goals and improve their wellbeing.

 

About the service

The Allied Health service delivers a range of specialist supports and clinical services to help clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Through a multidisciplinary team, services include brief interventions, psychological therapies, mental health counselling, vocational assistance, and access to service provider networks.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions, assessments, and behaviour support plans tailored to the individual needs of clients with complex mental health challenges and dual disabilities.
  • Provide person-centred, short-term interventions tailored to client needs.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support clients through care coordination, advocacy, and engagement with families and carers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, NDIS, health providers, and community stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
  • Contribute to service improvement and maintain professional and ethical standards.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Psychology or other health related field with provisional or eligibility for provisional registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience providing therapeutic support, including working with individuals with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities, under supervision, and engaging collaboratively with families and carers.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, implement, and prioritise tasks to meet service delivery requirements.
  • Understanding of the NDIS, Community Services sector, Private Health and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
  • Requirement to use a privately owned vehicle for work purposes, with the option to claim a kilometre allowance.
