About the role
We are seeking a proactive and community-focused Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team in a fixed-term, part-time role. This Monday to Friday role offers meaningful, hands-on experience supporting clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities across the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced clinician, you will:
- Conduct clinical assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
- Provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions in line with best practice.
- Work directly with clients through in-person visits, outreach, and telehealth, using a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach.
- Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to high-quality mental health care.
- Gain valuable exposure to community mental health practice across a range of funding schemes.
- Receive regular supervision and mentoring, peer support, and access to a $2,000 professional development budget (pro-rata for part-time staff).
About the Service
The Allied Health service delivers a range of specialist supports and clinical services to help clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Through a multidisciplinary team, services include clinical assessments, psychological therapies, mental health counselling, vocational assistance, and access to service provider networks.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, with current or eligible for AHPRA registration.
- Experience working with people experiencing mental ill health, dual disability, complex needs, and engaging with families and carers is desirable.
- Strong skills in assessment, therapeutic planning and recovery-oriented practice.
- Understanding of the NDIS, community services sector, private health, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
- Unrestricted driver’s licence and roadworthy vehicle for outreach work (kilometre allowance provided).
