About the Locals

The Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services, otherwise known as “Locals”, are a key recommendation from Victoria’s Royal Commission into the mental health service system. As such, the Locals are a key feature of the current system transformation. The Locals will act as a front door to the mental health service system utilising a no wrong door approach.

Medicare Mental Health Centres (MMHC’s) are adult centre based services providing wellbeing, clinical and peer support across the rest of Australia. They are commissioned by Primary Mental Health Care Networks.

 

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven leadership and governance experience, to get further exposure to an Operational Governance Manager role within the Victorian Locals Operations Leadership team.  The role will be offered on a Full-Time basis. You will be managing the accountabilities within the Locals services, helping develop systems and processes which support the Victorian Locals and Medicare Mental Health Centres, ensuring a stream-wide governance approach. You will aim to to coordinate internal and external governance reporting, business plan reporting, management risk registers, and system improvements alongside the Mind support hub team.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure all internal and external governance reporting is completed as required, within agreed timeframes to the relevant stakeholders including DoH funder reporting, business plan reporting, quality and safety reporting, HSW incidents and feedback/complaints
  • Support the development and application of the governance framework more broadly across Mind as endorsed by the relevant leaders
  • Collaborate with Locals and MMHC leaders and internal business partners to implement systems improvements to ensure sustainability and effective change
  • Ensure that appropriate system development, process and workflow development are sustainable, agreed and executed in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development, monitoring and management of governance related tasks.
  • Ensure all work supports wellbeing and psychological safety across the support hub and Locals operations.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business or other related field as designated by Mind and/or equivalent experience in a similar industry or Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or a related health field.
  • Previous proven experience in project work, management experience, operational governance or demonstrable and transferable skills.
  • Proven resilience and capacity to handle uncertainty when leading in a complex, ambiguous and changing environment.
  • Experience in designing, developing and/or improving operational workflows and systems that support service.
  • Excellent team leadership and management skills by building and managing high performing teams.
