About the role
The Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service (YRRS) provides young people intensive individual and group based support that promotes resilience, interpersonal skills, enhanced social connections, life skills, access to the community and a greater sense of being able to make sound decisions including healthy lifestyle choices. Clients benefit from sharing their experiences and recovery journeys with the other residents whilst growing their confidence and skills to live independently in the community. The service also delivers a day program for young people recovering from mental health challenges to develop life skills and support to remain in the community.
We are seeking a resilient, self-motivated Peer Cadets for a 10 month Fixed Term, Part Time (22.8 hours per week) opportunity in the Albury/Wodonga area. You will be supported to deliver personalised support services and works collaboratively with clients to achieve their recovery goals through one-to-one support, shared supports, workshops and group work facilitation to enhance recovery, personal growth and activities of daily living.
This is an outreach and place based Youth Service position for people aged under 25 or under (desirable).
To be eligible
To be eligible, applicants must be currently undertaking the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or enrolled to begin the course at the start of the cadetship period and meet the selection criteria defined by participating organisations.
