About the Service

The Housing with Support program is a 24/7 service designed for adults living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and co-occurring concerns and/or dual disabilities which have impacted their capacity to live independently in the community.

 

Mind’s Haven service in Clearview provides long‑term, affordable, purpose‑built housing for people with severe psychosocial disability, offering recovery‑focused supports that build independence, connection and daily living skills within a peer‑led community.

 

About the role

We are seeking resourceful and collaborative Psychosocial Disability Support Workers for permanent part time (30.4 hours per week) opportunity located in Clearview. You will deliver personalised support services and work collaboratively with participants to achieve their recovery and capacity building goals through one-to-one support, shared supports, workshops and group work facilitation to enhance recovery, personal growth and activities of daily living.

 

We also welcome applicants seeking casual employment, as casual relief work is available in addition to this parttime position.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Work with participants to imagine and live a meaningful life by supporting them through a staged approach to recovery
  • Plan and develop group work programs that will assist participants to build their skills, focus on their recovery, wellbeing and capacity building
  • Support family and carers through understanding their concerns and the provision of information, education and referrals
  • Make linkages and build relationships and referral pathways to maintain or create a range of local supports for participants that facilitate them to live the life of their choosing in their own community
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the service through undertaking a range of housekeeping duties

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health, Peer Work, or other health related field as designated by Mind
  • Confidence managing distress — able to work safely and professionally with individuals experiencing crisis, trauma, AOD impacts or escalated behaviour.
  • Experience in assessing need and working collaboratively to plan goal focused recovery using evidence informed approaches and tools to meet participants’ needs.
  • Awareness and understanding of the NDIS is required
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and WWCC
  • Unrestricted Australian driver’s license, and ability to utilise personal vehicle to transport residents as required
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications and ability to perform these duties as required as part of the role
