About the role
The Business Services team has responsibility for the following functions within the organisation: Financial Control, Financial Planning & Analysis, Information Systems, Facilities Management and Property Services, providing Governance and Regulatory advice to Board and the executive and the co-ordination of Strategic Risk Management across the organisation.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Enterprise Risk and Compliance for a permanent fulltime opportunity in the Burnley area. You will provide enterprise‑wide leadership, strategic direction and independent advice on risk management and governance. The role is accountable for designing, embedding and continuously improving Mind’s enterprise risk management system to support effective decision‑making, Board oversight of risk appetite, and organisational resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, design and maintain Mind’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system as an integrated, organisation‑wide operating model.
- Translate Board risk appetite into clear quantitative and qualitative tolerance measures, escalation triggers and management actions.
- Establish and maintain a structured enterprise risk taxonomy that aggregates risks into material risk classes.
- Design and deliver decision‑grade enterprise risk reporting for Executive Leadership Team, the Board and relevant Committees.
- Strengthen enterprise risk culture, ensuring risk ownership is clearly understood and actively led by Executives and leaders.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, governance, law, accounting, business or a related discipline as designated by Mind.
- Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications (e.g. GAICD, risk or governance accreditation) desirable.
- Significant senior‑level experience (typically 10+ years) in enterprise risk management, governance, assurance or related roles.
- Demonstrated capability to design, embed and mature enterprise risk management systems, moving organisations from foundational or compliance‑driven approaches to integrated, decision‑relevant ERM.
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk governance, including risk appetite, tolerance, escalation and assurance.
