- Base salary from $119,093.52 (pro-rata) + Super 12% | Salary packaging options available

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting young people aged 12 to 25 who are experiencing, or have recently experienced, a first episode of psychosis.
You will guide a team of Community Mental Health Practitioners and Peer Practitioners to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented support for young people, families, and carers. This service operates across Cairns, Mackay, and Metro South, in collaboration with clinical specialist services, and provides both in-reach and outreach support within the community.
In this leadership role, you’ll oversee service performance, operations, and budgets, ensuring that care delivery aligns with Mind’s Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice, My Better Life model, and organisational values.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver best-practice, recovery-oriented support for young people, families, and carers.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and professional development to build team capability and maintain a positive, supportive workplace culture.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including rostering, recruitment, risk management, incident reporting, and compliance with Mind’s policies and procedures.
- Monitor budgets and service performance, implementing strategies to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners, community stakeholders, and local service providers to enhance client outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Proven leadership experience within youth mental health or community services.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
- Experience managing teams, budgets, and service quality standards.
- Current, unrestricted driver’s licence and access to a registered roadworthy vehicle.
- Ability to provide proof of vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases or willingness to obtain required vaccinations per Queensland Health partnership.
