About the role

We are seeking an empathetic, experienced Lead Practitioner for a Permanent, full-time opportunity within the Housing & Accommodation Support Partnership / Supported Independent Living (HASP/SIL) program in Burnside. In this role, you will provide leadership and coach a dedicated team to deliver high-quality recovery-oriented services to clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice, My Better Life model and organisational values.

 

The Lead Practitioner will also provide information and resources, offer meaningful referrals to external providers, and collaborate with clinical partners to ensure an integrated, individualised service response.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and model for effective practice in working directly with clients, providing support to families and carers, undertaking planning and delivery of group work, and working with local service providers.
  • Coach staff to problem solve, develop creative solutions and remain motivated in meeting client’s goals.
  • Contribute to a high-performance team and identify opportunities to implement strategies to continually enhance a learning culture.
  • Plan and deliver group work programs to enhance client’s skills, support their recovery and facilitate their transitioning to the community.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a coordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field as designated by Mind.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of professional supervision.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and capacity to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
