About the Service

The Credentialed Mental Health Nurses Service (CMHNS) is a stepped-care mental health program designed to improve access to timely, flexible, and recovery-oriented mental health support for consumers across the region.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Intake Officer / Administrator for a permanent part time (3 days per week, 9:30am–2:30pm) opportunity located in Campbelltown. You will support the commencement and ongoing coordination of the CMHNS program acting as the primary point of contact for all CMHNS enquiries. The role will be responsible for triaging incoming referrals and ensuring consumers are allocated to the most appropriate Credentialed Mental Health Nurse based on eligibility, clinical need, and service capacity.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing a welcoming, responsive, and recovery-oriented first point of contact for all CMHNS enquiries
  • Triaging and assessing eligibility for the CMHNS program in line with service guidelines
  • Coordinating and allocating referrals to appropriate mental health nurses across the program
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with SWSPHN, internal teams, and external stakeholders
  • Supporting sector capacity building through strong stakeholder engagement, administrative coordination and knowledge of program pathways across YIM, CSPS, and CMHNS
  • Working collaboratively with clinicians and the Program Manager to support service delivery and program performance
  • Participating in regular team meetings and contributing to operational decision-making processes

Your Benefits

  • Competitive Salary Packaging: Maximize your take-home pay by salary packaging up to $15,900.
  • Fitness Passport: Take advantage of our discounted workplace health and fitness program, offering you and your family access to a wide range of gyms, pools, and fitness centers at a fraction of the regular cost. • Leave Perks: Enjoy leave perks including birthday leave, study leave, and an extra annual picnic day leave!

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in administration, mental health, health, community services, welfare or a related discipline (minimum Cert IV), or an equivalent level of expertise attained through previous appointments, service, training and study.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound knowledge of the NSW mental health system, local services within South Western Sydney, and the recovery-based approach to supporting people with mental health concerns.
  • Previous experience working within a clinical or healthcare setting, with an understanding of the standards, boundaries, and values required when engaging with vulnerable populations.
