Join our new Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service in Caboolture and play a key role in supporting young people (16–21) as they transition from acute mental health care to community living. In this leadership role, you’ll inspire and guide a dedicated team, empowering young people to achieve their recovery goals, build independence, and thrive.

 

  • Part-time (19 hours/week) | Fixed term until 30 June 2026 |  Monday to Friday
  • Base Salary from $110,102 (pro-rata) + Super 12% & Benefits
  • Caboolture Location

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Team Leader to join our new Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service. In this role, you will lead and support a team providing recovery-oriented care to young people, their families, and carers. You will provide practice leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff while overseeing the daily operations of the service.

 

About the service

The Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service in Caboolture supports young people aged 16–21 transitioning from hospital to community living or preventing further hospital admissions. In a safe, homelike environment with 24/7 staff access, young people are supported to build independence, strengthen relationships, and achieve recovery goals. Services include one-on-one coaching, group programs, workshops, and activities tailored to each recovery plan.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and model effective recovery-oriented practice to staff working with young people.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and coaching to staff, supporting problem-solving and creative approaches.
  • Deliver direct support to young people to develop independent living skills and achieve recovery goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including rostering, handovers, administration, and monitoring budgets.
  • Collaborate with community services to ensure coordinated and integrated care.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is required.
  • Experience leading teams in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and family-inclusive practice
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to provide proof of vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases or willingness to obtain required vaccinations per Queensland Health partnership.
