About the role

Research, Advocacy & Policy Development stream has a national focus with responsibility for research and evaluation, business development, clinical governance, policy and advocacy. The business unit provides strategic and operational leadership for Mind’s investment in research, evaluation and policy advocacy as well as developing and delivering on a five-year plan for advocacy and social change. The Research and Evaluation team aims to understand the impact of mental ill health on people’s lives and the policies and programs that help them achieve recovery goals and lead fulfilling lives.

 

We are seeking a driven, self-motivated Research Assistant for a permanent, full time opportunity to work at in the Burnley area. With work from home options, you will coordinate and conduct research and evaluation into increasing understanding of the impact of mental ill health on people’s lives and how effective services can contribute to client recovery and wellbeing.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the design, conduct and undertake research and evaluation projects.
  • Analyse information, interpret data and synthesise evidence that will support service improvement, policy design, systems advocacy and business development.
  • Co-ordinate, recommend and promote findings of research activities.
  • Assist with new activities and partnerships including grants and funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to ensure high level engagement in research and evaluation activities to achieve objectives.

 

 

What you’ll bring

  • Post-graduate tertiary degree qualifications in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health, Social Policy or other related field and preferably qualifications in Research and an academic background.
  • Familiarity with Community Services, Mental Health, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare, Disability or Government sectors is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing specialised research, service evaluation, quantitative data analysis and reporting activities.
  • Ability to engage and work collaboratively with diverse client groups to incorporate lived experience of mental ill health into research and evaluation activities.
