About the role

As part of the Business Services stream, the Financial Control’s will deliver financial operations, finance systems, management reporting, external reporting and asset management with the aim to achieve consistent service delivery and comply with internal and external policy, standards and practice.

 

We are seeking a self-motivated Junior Accountant for a permanent, fulltime opportunity in the Burnley area. You will provide support across financial operations, reporting and compliance for Mind and its controlled entities. This role is designed for a recent graduate (or near completion) or early career professional seeking to develop accounting skills and gain exposure within a dynamic not-for-profit environment.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day financial accounting and month-end process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Preparation and posting of journals and adjustments across key accounts including revenue, payroll and accruals.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations of a range of general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Support financial compliance by assisting with reconciliations, acquittals, FBT and BAS preparation.
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements, including liaising with external auditors.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree qualifications (or near completion) in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field as designated by Mind.
  • Working towards CA, CPA, CIMA or ACCA
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to show initiative, work collaboratively and prioritise work.
  • Great attitude towards work and willingness to learn and undertake new tasks.
