About the role
The Lived Experience Graduate Supervisor for the Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals will be responsible for leading, guiding and supporting the Lived Experience Graduates participating in the Graduate Program. The position will act as the direct line manager for the Lived Experience Graduates and provide supervision, mentorship and opportunities for reflective practice throughout their employment period.
We are seeking a self—motivated individual for a Part Time, Fixed Term (until Feb 2027) opportunity located in the Dandenong area. The role will participate in the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Graduate Program, including communities of practice and a range of learning and development activities. The role will also build relationships with education and training providers and support services hosting Interns.
Key responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Service Operations Manager and other stakeholders to develop a Graduate Learning Program.
- Develop and implement a Graduate Learning Program review and evaluation plan.
- Support Graduates to develop individual learning plans that focus on their required knowledge, skills and abilities to work effectively in the mental health and wellbeing system.
- Lead, guide, educate and support Graduates by providing supervision and coaching, support with effective learning and development programs, mental health training and a range of educational experiences throughout their employment period.
- Work closely with the Lived Experience Workforce Practice Lead (Locals Establishment) to ensure the support provided to Graduates is in line with the Lived Experience Workforce supports across the Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals.
- Support the Service Operations Manager to prepare and submit reports and outcomes in relation to the program to internal and external stakeholders, including advice, updates, insights and analysis.
What you’ll bring
- Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/ or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or equivalate education is required.
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health related field as designated by Mind will be considered.
- Previous experience in using lived experience and Expertise in a dedicated Peer role strongly desirable.
- Experience or ability to acquire skills in understanding needs and working collaboratively to plan wellbeing supports using evidence informed approaches and tools, for example in challenging situations.
- Previous experience providing leadership and support to a lived experience team/staff is highly sought after.
