About the role

The Psychosocial Residential Rehabilitation service is a long-term, integrated program for adults aged 18–64 with severe and enduring psychosocial disability, including dual disabilities, whose conditions affect independent living. Funded through NDIS packages, staffed 24/7, and guided by recovery-oriented and dual disability frameworks, the service provides tailored one-on-one and group support to build daily living skills, strengthen relationships, enhance social and community connections, and increase confidence and capacity to live safely in the community.

We are seeking four compassionate Mental Health Support Workers to join our team at the properties in Albert Park and Armadale, working on a 24/7 rotating roster. In this role, you will provide person-centred, recovery-focused support, helping clients achieve their wellbeing goals, develop life skills, strengthen social connections, enhance support networks, and build the confidence to live independently.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering specialised psychosocial support.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.
  • Facilitate group activities, workshops, and skill-building programs to enhance daily living, social connections, and confidence.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and home-like residential environment, including personal care, daily routines, and wellbeing support.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Ability to provide information and mentoring to build capability, establish social relationships, create community networks and access to relevant services.
  • Experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health is desirable.
  • Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
