About the role
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services act as a front door to the mental health service system and provides a continuum of care and support including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug framework approach.
We are seeking two self-motivated, compassionate Occupational Therapist for 2x Permanent, Full-Time opportunities in the Bendigo area supporting the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality clinical assessments, flexible therapeutic interventions, expert consultation, and specialist services, including positive behaviour support and capacity building to people experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges, AOD, loneliness, isolation and dual disabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive OT assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning and evidence‑based interventions.
- Provide functional and sensory assessments tailored to individual needs.
- Build capability across families, carers, supporters and Local service teams.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary interprofessional team to ensure coordinated, person‑centred care.
- Build relationships with community groups, local providers, government agencies and other key stakeholders.
- Support access to effective clinical management and promote mental health literacy.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or related health field.
- Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA or equivalent accreditation; Mental Health Accreditation desirable.
- Experience working with adults in mental health, disability or community settings.
- Strong assessment, therapeutic planning and recovery‑oriented practice skills.
- Ability to collaborate across services and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Understanding of the NDIS, Community Services and/or healthcare systems.
