About the role

Join a supportive multidisciplinary Allied Health team delivering recovery-focused services in the community. This role offers a unique opportunity to build expertise in mental health and psychosocial disability while making a meaningful difference in the lives of people across Melbourne's western suburbs.

 

Whether you're a new graduate looking to build your clinical skills or an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking a rewarding community-based role, you'll be supported to thrive through regular supervision, mentoring, peer support and ongoing professional development.

 

In this role you will:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions in line with best practice.
  • Work directly with clients through in-person visits, outreach, and telehealth, using a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach.
  • Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to high-quality mental health care.
  • Gain valuable exposure to community mental health practice across a range of funding schemes.
  • Benefit from regular supervision, mentoring and a $2,000 annual professional development budget (pro rata for part-time staff).

 

About the Service

The Allied Health service delivers a range of specialist supports and clinical services to help clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Through a multidisciplinary team, services include clinical assessments, psychological therapies, mental health counselling, vocational assistance, and access to service provider networks.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, with current or eligible for AHPRA registration.
  • Experience working with people experiencing mental ill health, dual disability, complex needs, and engaging with families and carers is desirable.
  • Strong skills in assessment, therapeutic planning and recovery-oriented practice.
  • Understanding of the NDIS, community services sector, private health, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
  • A current unrestricted driver's licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle for outreach work.
  • Travel is generally limited to approximately 45 minutes from home, with kilometre reimbursement provided.
