  • Full time, Monday to Friday | Contract until March 2026
  • Base salary from $76,372 + Super 12% & Benefits | Vehicle provided for business use
  • Outreach-based role across the Riverland region, with flexibility to work from home as needed

About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate Peer Practitioner to join our Psychosocial Support team in the Riverland region. You’ll provide person-centred support through one-on-one outreach and group activities, helping clients build daily living skills, strengthen social connections, access services, and achieve their recovery goals.

 

About the Service

The Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP) offers non-clinical, recovery-focused support to people experiencing mental ill health. Through a mix of individual outreach and group activities, the program helps clients gain independence, confidence, and community connection, empowering them to improve their quality of life.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Use your lived/living experience of mental ill health and recovery to build connection, offer hope, and support others on their recovery journey.
  • Deliver high-quality services to respond to the unique needs of people, offering a flexible and person-centred approach.
  • Provide resources and support to help people foster positive relationships with those important to them.
  • Support people to navigate services and connect with community supports that help them build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
  • Actively contribute to co-design and service improvement, championing the voice and leadership of people with lived experience.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Lived or living experience of mental health and/or AOD challenges, and a desire to use this to support others.
  • Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health-related field as designated by Mind.
  • Experience working directly with people experiencing mental health challenges, complex needs, and/or their families and carers.
  • Knowledge of community services and supports, including the NDIS (desirable).
  • Experience providing person-centred, recovery-focused support through individual and group activities.
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support training (desirable).
  • Must hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s licence.
