About the role
The Housing with Support residential service is a long-term integrated social housing program for people living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability. The SIL Haven residences are staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours and designed like a ‘home away from home’ funded through participant’s NDIS packages with practice guided by Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice, SIL model and Dual Disability framework. The service works collaboratively with participants providing personalised 1:1 support, shared supports and group activities based on strengths and goals identified in an individual’s recovery plan to build daily living skills, strengthen relationships with families and carers, enhance social connections and community networks, and grow confidence and capacity to live safely in the community.
We are seeking an experienced, driven Service Manager for a fixed term 12 month, full time opportunity within the Haven property located in the Ballarat area. Leading and managing the all aspects of the program, you will ensure provision of high standard service delivery consistent with Mind’s My Better Life model and organisational values for residents, families and carers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor effective practice, manage service delivery and provide support to participants, families and carers.
- Coach the team to provide targeted, integrated and individualised responses to participants through flexible, person-centred active supports.
- Guide a high performing team by engaging staff, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
- Undertake administrative tasks and achievement of service performance and agreed targets.
- Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure co-ordinated, integrated responses to participant recovery goals.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Extensive experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Housing, Healthcare or Disability sectors and working with people with mental health issues, highly complex needs and with their families and carers.
- Proven ability to effectively build and coach a team to achieve high quality service outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of mental health service delivery, service development and design, financial management, budget control and reporting.
- Successful track record in nurturing relationships with service providers, partners and key stakeholders.
