About the role
We are seeking an experienced, driven Service Manager within both the Early Intervention Psychological Support Response Service (EIPSRS) and Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing Service Prevention and Recovery Care Unit (APARC) divisions encompassing the Western Melbourne region. Leading and managing all aspects of the two services, you will ensure provision of high standard service delivery consistent with Mind’s My Better Life model and organisational values. Your leadership will support positive outcomes for consumers, residents, families and carers.
This is an excellent opportunity for internal applicants with proven leadership experience, to get exposure as a Service Manager across two services. The role will be offered as a secondment for a fixed term 10-month period, on a full-time basis, until the end of February 2027.
About the service
The Mercy Early Intervention Psychological Support Response Service (EIPSRS) provides a person-centered approach to recovery which is tailored to meet the needs of people living with mental ill health in the community. EIPSRS provides an individualised, tiered program of recovery support of up to 12 months delivered to clients with the level of engagement determined by their needs. Services include individual support, one-on-one outreach services and group work and are designed to enhance recovery, achieve wellbeing goals, build capacity and life skills, maintain sustainable housing, improve relationships with families and carers, develop social and community connections, and live safely and independently in the community.
The Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing Service Prevention and Recovery Care Unit (PARC) is located at Burnside PARC and delivered in partnership between Mind and Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. The service supports clients experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges transition from an acute hospital setting or to prevent hospital admissions by providing extra support to those entering directly from the community.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day to day operation of the Mercy PARC alongside the service delivery of the Mercy EIPSRS service.
- Lead and mentor effective practice, manage service delivery and provide support to clients, families and carers.
- Coach the team to provide targeted, integrated and individualised responses to clients through flexible, person-centred active supports.
- Guide a high performing team by engaging staff, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
- Undertake administrative tasks and achievement of service performance and agreed targets.
- Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure co-ordinated, integrated responses to client recovery goals
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum bachelor’s qualifications) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind
- Extensive experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Housing, Healthcare or Disability sectors and working with people with mental health issues, highly complex needs and with their families and carers.
- Proven experience in PARC, Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing or Healthcare or Government sectors is required.
- Proven ability to effectively build and coach a team to achieve high quality service outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of mental health service delivery, service development and design, financial management, budget control and reporting.
- Successful track record in nurturing relationships with service providers, partners and key stakeholders.
