About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager to lead the Community Care Unit (CCU) in Toowoomba. In this permanent, part-time position, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the program operation, ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned with Mind’s Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice and organisational values.
You will be accountable for service performance, workforce leadership, financial management, and the delivery of safe, effective services in line with approved systems, policies, and procedures.
About the services
The Community Care Unit (CCU) is a longer-term residential service providing intensive treatment and recovery support for people experiencing serious mental health challenges. The service supports individuals to stabilise their mental health, build daily living skills, and transition safely back into the community from a hospital environment. Clients have access to staff 24/7 and are supported by a multidisciplinary team including clinical staff, Community Mental Health Practitioners and Peer Workers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team delivering recovery-oriented services.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and professional development to build team capability and maintain a positive, supportive workplace culture.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including rostering, recruitment, risk management, incident reporting, and compliance with Mind’s policies and procedures.
- Monitor budgets and service performance, implementing strategies to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners, community stakeholders, and local service providers to enhance client outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within mental health and/or community services.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
- Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and service quality standards.
- Ability to provide evidence of Vaccination Preventable Diseases (VPD) compliance, or willingness to obtain required vaccinations, including Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Whooping Cough (Pertussis), Hepatitis B, and TB screening, in line with our partnership with Queensland Health.
