About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager to oversee three mental health programs across Perth Metro and Peel.

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily operations and service performance across three programs: Kwelena Step Up Step Down (SUSD), the Active Recovery Team (ART), and Support Opportunity and Resilience for Youth (SOAR). You will lead Team Leaders, Lead Practitioners and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health services that support people, families and carers to achieve their recovery goals.

Working closely with clinical partners, community organisations and government stakeholders, you will be responsible for service quality, contractual performance, workforce capability, financial management and continuous service improvement.

About the services

This position oversees three recovery-oriented mental health programs: Kwelena Step Up Step Down (SUSD), a short-term residential service supporting people to transition from hospital or avoid admission; the Active Recovery Team (ART), providing intensive community-based support for people with complex mental health needs; and Support Opportunity and Resilience for Youth (SOAR), a psychosocial support program helping young people aged 16–24 build independence, community connection and recovery outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage high-quality, recovery-oriented services for people, families and carers in line with Mind’s Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice.
• Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to Team Leaders, Lead Practitioners and multidisciplinary teams to achieve quality service and performance outcomes.
• Oversee service delivery, including intake, assessment, recovery planning and care review processes across multiple programs.
• Manage service performance, budgets, reporting, contractual obligations and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships with clinical services, community organisations, government agencies and other key stakeholders.
• Foster a positive, high-performing culture that values lived experience, continuous improvement, cultural safety and workforce development.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
• Leadership experience in mental health, community services, disability, health or a related sector.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting people with mental ill health and complex needs using recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience managing service performance, budgets, reporting requirements and stakeholder partnerships.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clinical partners, government agencies and community stakeholders.
• Lived experience of mental ill health and recovery, or experience caring for someone with mental ill health, is highly valued.
