About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager for a permanent, part-time (30.4 hours/week) opportunity at our Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service (YRRS) in Townsville. YRRS is a recovery-focused residential program supporting young people aged 16–21 with mental ill health. In a safe, home-like setting, the service helps build life skills, resilience, social connections, and confidence to live independently.
As Service Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee all aspects of service delivery to ensure high-quality, recovery-oriented support for young people, their families, and carers. You will be responsible for achieving service performance and budget targets, and for managing operations in accordance with approved systems, policies, and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and guide recovery-oriented, person-centred support for young people, families, and carers in alignment with best practice and organisational standards.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, provide supervision and coaching, build capability, and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Manage daily operations, including rostering, recruitment, risk management, incident reporting, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage the service budget, and implement strategies to ensure efficiency and service quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners, local service providers, internal teams, and community stakeholders to enhance client outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Demonstrated leadership in youth mental health or community services.
- Expertise in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice and evidence-based interventions.
- Experience in managing teams, financial oversight, and compliance with quality standards.
- Ability to provide proof of vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases or willingness to obtain required vaccinations per Queensland Health partnership.
