About the service:

 

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services are a key recommendation from Victoria’s Royal Commission into the mental health service system. As such, the services are a key feature of ongoing system transformation. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services will act as front door to the mental health service system and will provide a continuum of care and support including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug approach.

 

At the Greater Dandenong Mental Health and Wellbeing Local, Mind Australia is the lead agency in a consortium which comprises of Monash Health, Foundation House and Thorne Harbour Health. At the Cardinia Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Mind Australia is the lead agency in a consortium which includes Monash Health service acts as the hub and the Cardinia service the spoke., Both services deliver integrated care and support that puts the person accessing the service at the very centre of their treatment, support and care coordination using a range of evidence informed approaches. The consortium is committed to embedding lived and living experience within all aspects of the service including program design and evaluation, leadership, service delivery and governance.

 

About the role

 

The Service Operations Manager (Dandenong and Cardinia) will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals services in the Greater Dandenong region and Cardinia region. The Service Operations Manager will be responsible and accountable for the operating budget, achieving performance targets and performance management in a complex and demanding service delivery environment.

You will oversees practice and service culture which embeds Lived and Living Experience and Lived Expertise at the centre of all aspects of the service while maintaining the fidelity of the consortiums service model.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage evidence informed services to consumers, carers, families and supporters as defined in the Service Model across an interprofessional continuum of care, treatment and support which includes psychiatry, clinical interventions, AOD therapies and interventions and a range of holistic wellbeing supports.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local service providers, cultural groups and individuals in the community to ensure bi-directional access.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary interprofessional team that puts the person accessing the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local first and maintains the fidelity of the service model placing the voice of lived/living experience at the centre of all aspects of the service.
  • Support and provide supervision to the Team Leader-Lived Expertise and ensure the fidelity of peer work discipline and Intentional Peer Support.
  • Lead, manage and influence internal stakeholders and consortium partners in a complex service delivery environment.
  • Work in partnership with the General Manager to plan, develop and implement service and expenditure budgets to meet requirements.
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with the Mind Code of Conduct and Mind policies and procedures which may change from time to time.

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a complex service delivery environment that is interprofessional and multidisciplinary.
  • Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health and/or AOD challenges and their families, carers and supporters.
  • Proven experience in leadership and capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes.
  • A track record in successful relationship development, stakeholder management and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in effective financial management, budget control and reporting.
  • High level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines
