About the role
The Housing with Support residential service is a long-term integrated social housing program for people living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability. The Haven residences are staffed 24/7 and designed like a ‘home away from home’ funded through client’s NDIS packages with practice guided by Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice, Haven service model and Dual Disability framework. The service works collaboratively with clients providing personalised 1:1 support, shared supports and group activities based on strengths and goals identified in an individual’s recovery plan to build daily living skills, strengthen relationships with families and carers, enhance social connections and community networks, and grow confidence and capacity to live safely in the community.
We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate Team Leader for a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity to work in the Epping area. You will provide leadership and support a team to deliver person-centred, recovery-oriented care to clients to develop daily living and social skills, build community networks, achieve wellbeing goals and live independently in the community. The Team Leader will act as the practice lead to staff providing supervision, mentoring and coaching.
Key responsibilities
- Lead delivery of services to clients, carers and families as defined in the Model of Recovery Oriented Practice and related guidelines to ensure that individually tailored services for clients and their family and carers are provided to the highest standard.
- Plan deliver and develop group work programs that will assist clients to build their skills, focus on their recovery and work towards transitioning back to their natural community.
- Support staff to develop skills to facilitate family and carer meetings, run family and carer events and develop family and/or parenting recovery goals.
- Engage with clients to fully understand their need for assistance from local service providers with clinical services, physical health, education and employment, eligible entitlements and benefits, housing, transport, recreation and social connections.
- Supervise the day to day operations of the residential service through overseeing a range of housekeeping duties.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
- Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
- Experience in guiding a team to implement therapeutic, recovery-oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes and provide professional supervision.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and capacity to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
