About the Service

You In Mind provides free psychological support for people in South Western Sydney experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns or living with severe mental illness. Eligible participants can access up to 12 sessions with qualified mental health professionals, with referrals managed through SWSPHN Mental Health Central Intake. Peer support is also available to complement therapy and support recovery.

 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Administration and Intake Officer for a 4 month part time contract (2 days per week) located in Campbelltown. As the Administration and Intake Officer you will coordinate referrals, intake processes and stakeholder communication for You In Mind (YIM), serving as the primary point of contact. You will triage and allocate referrals to the most appropriate clinician while supporting program reporting, stakeholder engagement and service growth.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Providing a welcoming, responsive, and recovery-oriented first point of contact for all YIM enquiries.
  • Triage and assess eligibility for the YIM program in line with service guidelines.
  • Coordinate and allocate referrals to appropriate clinicians across the program.
  • Monitor referrals, waitlist and service activity information and provide regular updates to the Program Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with Clinicians, Administrators, Program Manager to support service delivery and program performance.
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities and audit processes by maintaining accurate records and providing administrative support.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in administration, mental health, health, community services, welfare or a related discipline (minimum Cert IV), or an equivalent level of expertise attained through previous appointments, service, training and study.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound knowledge of the NSW mental health system, local services within South Western Sydney, and the recovery-based approach to supporting people with mental health concerns.
  • Previous experience working within a clinical or healthcare setting, with an understanding of the standards, boundaries, and values required when engaging with vulnerable populations.
