About the role
The Allied Health Clinician will provide high-quality clinical assessments, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and specialist mental health support to service users with severe and complex needs, including dual diagnosis. Operating within the Multidisciplinary Service Team (MDT) funded by the Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN), this role supports communities across Warrnambool, Camperdown, Portland, and Hamilton.
This fixed-term, full-time position offers the opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating with a dynamic multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for delivering person-centred care, supporting recovery, coordinating with other health providers, and engaging families, carers, and local services to enhance service user outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and time-limited, evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Provide care coordination and advocacy to support recovery goals.
- Work collaboratively with primary care providers, multidisciplinary teams, and community stakeholders.
- Support families and carers through education, guidance, and counselling.
- Engage in reflective practice, professional supervision, and ongoing professional development.
- Travel across Warrnambool, Camperdown, Portland, and Hamilton to provide meaningful support.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary degree qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, Allied Health, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or other health related field as designated by Mind.
- Graduated from an ACA accredited/approved Bachelor of Counselling (AQF level 7) or Master of Counselling (AQF level 9).
- Able to obtain appropriate registration with Australian Associate of Social Workers (AASW) and hold Mental Health Accreditation.
- Able to obtain appropriate registration with AHPRA or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.
