About the role

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team in Bendigo. This is a permanent opportunity available on a full-time or part-time basis, Monday to Friday.

Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced clinician, you’ll provide:

• Clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
• Specialist services such as positive behaviour support and capacity building.
• Expert consultation to support clients with severe and complex mental health challenges and dual disabilities
• Interventions delivered in person, through outreach, and via telehealth, using a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach

About the Service

The Allied Health service delivers a range of specialist supports and clinical services to help clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Through a multidisciplinary team, services include clinical assessments, psychological therapies, mental health counselling, vocational assistance, and access to service provider networks.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver flexible therapeutic support services in line with professional, ethical and National Standards.
• Provide evidence-based mental health interventions, allied health assessments, therapies and short-term interventions to meet client needs.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, families, carers, and service providers to develop integrated care plans.
• Coordinate care and contribute to multidisciplinary case planning, referrals, and linkage to community services
• Participate in quality improvement activities, service design and evaluation to achieve the best client outcomes.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary degree qualifications in Occupational Therapy, with current AHPRA registration.
• Experience working with people experiencing mental ill health, dual disability issues, complex needs, and engaging with families and carers is desirable.
• Strong skills in assessment, therapeutic planning and recovery-oriented practice.
• Understanding of the NDIS, Community Services sector, Private Health and ability to build collaborative relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
• A valid driver’s licence and use of a privately owned vehicle (with kilometre allowance provided).
