About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team in Brisbane. This part-time parental leave cover role (with potential for extension as the service grows) offers hands-on experience supporting clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities.

 

Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced clinician, you will:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention in line with best-practice.
  • Work directly with clients in person, through outreach, and via telehealth, using a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach.
  • Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to high-quality mental health care.
  • Gain valuable exposure to community mental health practice across a range of funding schemes.

 

About the Service

The Allied Health service delivers a range of specialist supports and clinical services to help clients with complex mental health needs and dual disabilities achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Through a multidisciplinary team, services include clinical assessments, psychological therapies, mental health counselling, vocational assistance, and access to service provider networks.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, with current or eligible for AHPRA registration.
  • Experience working with people experiencing mental ill health, dual disability issues, complex needs, and engaging with families and carers is desirable.
  • Skills in assessment, therapeutic planning and delivery within a recovery-oriented practice framework.
  • Understanding of the NDIS, Community Services sector, Private Health and ability to build collaborative relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
  • Unrestricted driver’s license and roadworthy vehicle for outreach work (kilometre allowance provided).
