About the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Coordinator to join the Cairns Medicare Mental Health Centre.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Centre, ensuring a safe, efficient and well-organised environment. You will provide supervision to the Administration Support Officer and support the smooth functioning of the service.

As a key operational point of contact, you will oversee daily administrative and operational activities, ensuring effective processes and staff support, and contributing to a safe, welcoming and high-quality service environment for clients and the multidisciplinary team.

 

 Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations including meetings, WHS compliance, facilities, onboarding, IT systems and office administration
  • Supervise and support the Administration Support Officer to ensure effective service delivery
  • Manage finance processes including invoicing, debtor management, reconciliations and reporting
  • Oversee data systems, reporting requirements, and timely submission of internal and external reports
  • Support service improvement activities, performance monitoring, and operational planning with the Centre Manager
  • Maintain facilities, fleet and office systems to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for clients, carers, staff and stakeholders

 

What you’ll bring

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration and/or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative coordination, reception, data entry and customer service.
  • Experience in community services, mental health, healthcare or government sectors is highly regarded
  • Experience supervising or supporting staff in an operational or administrative environment.
  • Strong organisational, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and engage effectively with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to work with systems and data accurately.
