About the role
This is an internal opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced Peer Practitioner Lead within the Psychosocial Supports team in Perth. In this role, you will draw on your lived/living experience of mental health and/or alcohol and other drug challenges to provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to a peer support workforce.
Your work will champion the voice of lived experience, promote recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches, and support co-design practices that place the relationship and service user at the centre. You will ensure consistent, high-quality peer work across programs in line with Mind’s models, frameworks, and values.
Key responsibilities
- Utilise your own lived/living experience to guide practice, advocate for human rights, and foster a culture that values lived experience across services.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and practice leadership to Peer Practitioners, ensuring recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and intentional peer support approaches are consistently applied.
- Deliver high quality services responding to the unique needs of young people offering a flexible and relationally-centred approach.
- Build and maintain relationships with families, carers, community services, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated, integrated, and high-quality service delivery.
What you’ll bring
- Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, is desirable but not required.
- Tertiary qualifications are required in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health related field as designated by Mind.
- Ability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of professional supervision.
- Previous experience in using lived experience and expertise in a dedicated Peer role strongly desirable.
