About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Service Manager for a fixed-term, part-time (30.4 hours/week) opportunity. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily program operations across both the Step up Step down (SUSD) residential service and the Active recovery team (ART). You will manage service performance, and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health services to people living with psychosocial disabilities.

 

About the services

The step up Step Down (SUSD) service is a 10-bed, short-stay residential service supporting people with psychosocial disabilities to transition from acute hospital care or avoid hospital admissions through recovery-focused residential support.

The Active Recovery Team (ART) is a community-based, early intervention program providing intensive, recovery-oriented support for up to 90 days. Designed for individuals with complex needs and high hospital use, ART offers coordinated, flexible mental health and AOD treatment to improve engagement and maximise recovery outcomes.

 

 Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage high-quality, individualised services for clients, families, and carers in accordance with the Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice.
  • Coach, develop and supervise a high-performing team, to deliver client-centred outcomes and meet performance targets.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individual recovery plans, provide leadership in clinical care review meetings, and model best practice in mental health interventions.
  • Manage budgets, reporting, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local services, clinical partners, community groups, and other stakeholders.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mental health or community services.
  • Proven ability to coach and supervise multidisciplinary teams and lead service delivery.
  • Expertise in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills.
